Pump commonly used materials are: cast iron, cast steel, stainless steel, carbon structural steel, alloy steel, non-metallic materials.
A, cast iron
1, gray cast iron is the most commonly used cast iron, the national code is HT. General clean water pump pump body, impeller, pump cover, suspension, etc., are used in this material, usually used in three brands: HT150, HT200, HT250. For the base, pad and other non-major parts, HT150 is mostly used; for pump body, pump cover, suspension, etc., HT200 is mostly used; for impeller, mouth ring, axle sleeve, etc., HT250 is mostly used. For example, the code name of Japan is FC, the code name of Germany is GG, and the code name of the United States is Class.
2, ductile iron is a good comprehensive performance of cast iron, the national standard code for QT. Because its mechanical properties are close to steel, and its casting properties and machining properties are better than steel, it is usually used as a substitute for cast steel. The most commonly used brands are: qt450-10, qt500-7, and qt600-3. Due to the limitations of casting and other reasons, the impeller of the current water pump USES this material, especially the cutting type of the cost performance of the open impeller are superior. DIN standard for the expression of Ductile iron is GGG, the United States for the expression of Ductile iron.
In addition, there are corrosion resistant cast iron - high silicon cast iron, wear resistant cast iron - white cast iron, high toughness cast iron - malleable cast iron, etc., due to the existence of a certain degree of difficulty in processing, the pump material used by the product is not much.
Second, the cast steel
Due to the high strength of cast steel, usually when the pressure is > 1.6mpa, the pressure parts are mostly cast steel, its national code is ZG, the most commonly used brand is ZG23 0-450. Japan and the United States usually use CS for cast steel.
Iii. Stainless steel
The most commonly used stainless steel pump material is austenitic stainless steel, such as 0Cr18Ni9, 1Cr18Ni9Ti, 0Cr18Ni12Mo2Ti, etc. In addition to a few media such as hydrochloric acid, dilute sulfuric acid, austenitic stainless steel is an excellent corrosion resistant material, is the most commonly used chemical pump corrosion resistant material. Japan and the United States usually use SS304, SS316, SS316L to represent the austenitic stainless steel. Martensitic stainless steel such as 2Cr13, 3Cr13, its mechanical properties are better than austenitic stainless steel, usually used as a pump shaft and sleeve material, Japan and the United States of the corresponding code for SS420. In addition, high alloy stainless steel (no. 20 alloy) and double stainless steel are also ideal corrosion resistant materials.
Carbon structural steel
It is usually divided into ordinary carbon structural steel and high quality carbon structural steel. The most representative common carbon structural steel is Q235, which is mostly used in all kinds of steel plates and sections. The most representative quality carbon steel is no. 45 steel, which is widely used as pump shaft material without corrosion requirements.
Alloy steel
The most representative alloy steel is 40Cr, which is usually used as the material of high strength pump shaft.
Non-metallic materials
Pump material is mainly used for sealing non-metallic materials, such as ptfe, fluoro rubber, nitrile rubber, etc. Polytetrafluoroethylene (ptfe) is used for sealing gasket of chemical pumps and static sealing of mechanical seals due to its excellent corrosion resistance and high temperature resistance. It is suitable for almost all chemical media within 250℃, and its disadvantages are high hardness and difficult assembly.
Fluororubber is also a kind of better temperature resistance, corrosion resistance material, temperature ceiling of 160℃ is appropriate, when the user has no special requirements, chemical pump is recommended to use the sealing ring of this material; NBR is mainly used for static sealing when oil or water resistant medium.
