The common pressurized water chamber of centrifugal pump and mixed flow pump is spiral shape, called vortex housing. Chamber inspection
Cracks may occur in the vortexes or guide vanes due to heat and cold, excessive pressure or improper installation. Where the crack is not long and the sealing requirement is not strict, a small hole can be drilled at both ends of the crack to prevent the crack from expanding.
As a temporary solution. The parts with big cracks and strict sealing requirements should be repaired by cold and hot welding.
